We’re thrilled to announce that we will be sponsoring a fantastic micro surgery talk at the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) Winter scientific meeting 2016.
In partnership with S&T, micro surgery instrument specialists, we will be sponsoring Dr Scott Levin.
Levin is chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also world renowned for being the Director of the Hand Transplant Program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
As an accomplished surgeon, his expertise focuses on surgery of the hand and upper extremity, as well as reconstructive micro surgery techniques for extremity reconstruction and limb salvage.
One of his most high profile cases was an 11 hour bilateral hand transplant on Zion Harvey, an 8 year old that had lost both hands and legs to a life-threatening infection.
The successful transplant has been prolific as it has totally changed Zion’s life and has enabled him to complete tasks that were previously impossible.
This year’s BAPRAS meeting will explore similar procedures and take place at the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel, London from 23th – 25th November. If you’d like to hear Levin’s talk, you can register for the event here.
